New Studio, New Inspiration, New Adventures
Being an artist is hard sometimes!! We have all these ideas, our brains are constantly creating things, and we need outlets to carry through. The old studio in Gahanna, Ohio was a wonderful space for the 5 yrs we were in it. It helped us grow the business, offer spectacular service to our clients, and capture some amazing memories for so many people. But, alas, it was time to move on. Our lease was coming up, and in our hearts, we knew we needed to move on. We were feeling less and less creative, and we felt we needed a refresher. We looked and looked and looked, but just could not find the perfect space. So we were prepared to move all of our props and such into a storage space, and go to on-location only sessions through the fall, in hopes of finding the perfect space before the winter months hit. But we continued to pray and hope the perfect space would come along before we had to move out August 1. With about 1 month laft, we were told about a lead on a 1400 sqft loft studio. AS soon as I walked in, my hear SANG! I KNEW this would be our new home, and I was ecstatic to move in. We love the owner and building manager, and the space just opened us up to more options. We now have the option of doing strictly studio lights like you are so used to seeing from our studio. HOWEVER, thanks to the amazing warehouse windows, it is allowing us to capture more lifestyle, natural light photos as well!!! This allows us to accommodate different styles, and also offer both styles to our clients. We can even combine the styles into one session! If you can’t decide which style you like most, you can get BOTH!!
We moved in quite quickly, and then hit the ground running, so we don’t have the best photos of the studio yet. We are working on some storage options and remodeling in the next month, but for now, here is a sampling of some of the natural/lifestyle type session photos:
BUT as I mentioned, we are still 100% able to do our full studio style photography. As many of you know, one of my (Erin’s) favorite type of photography is the fine art maternity sessions. We still have all of our lighting, all of our backdrops, and most importantly, or maternity wardrobe, in order to still create these types of images. These photos are taken in the NEW studio, but all studio style lighting:
Want to know another benefit to our new studio in Columbus, Ohio? The outdoor options for photos!!! We have TONS of cool spots around the studio building to capture photos. We have had a blast using these locations. From a freight elevator, to metal fences, steps, etc, there is sooo much to use:-)
As if this wasn’t enough perks to the new studio?? We are literally 7 minutes to both Jeffery mansion and Franklin park conservatory. Allowing for a quick drive to an outdoor location if the weather is nice, or you are hoping for a combo indoor/outdoor session.
Also, every holiday seaon, we tend to have a TON of extended family photo session requests. The past 5 years, if the family had more than 6 or 7 people, we had to rent a larger studio in town. NOW? We have the space!! I just shot a few huge families (12+) with NO ISSUES!!!! So feel free to book your extended family photo session with us this year!
WHEW! Ok, so I finally had the chance to write out the new studio blog post:-) Stay tuned for some new things to come: new pricing, new products, etc. We will update here and on our social media pages, so make sure to follow us!
